Early Friday!

I am not one to rise early! I like my sleep! Today I had to be at work by 8:00. That is bloom'n early for me! Because of the early hour...I rounded up the girls from the group home and we went Yard Sale'n! I only bought 2 magazines for .10 total...but I saw some lovelies!!

It's not easy being green!!

So I really try to be "Green" ! I love the earth...and want it to stay a great place to live forever!!

I checked this book out of the Libray and it tells you everything that is toxic!! Well it really is pretty much EVERYTHING!! It is good to know that we need to be better consumers! It is good to be "freaked" a little! I guess?? Check it out!

A walk down Thrifty Lane!

This is SOME of the stuff I saw at the thrift store today and REALLY wanted. But alas I can't have everything I want or I'd be a hoarder on Oprah!

These darling darling vintage plates, a huge stack, .50 cents each!! Sighhhh.

This cute one dollar suit case. It was tiny like 1' long. So cute!! (The inside was thrashed!!)

Darling Shabby Chic 4 poster bed. CUTE!!! (Turn your head to the side) $12.00.

This is what came home w/ me: A cute vintage lunch box. I think I'll paint it!! Three silver spoons..I'm going to try to stamp them!! Total $1.75.

It has been so hot in Utah lately I could die! Almost 100 every day. Today's high 90 and it feels delish!! I am ready for fall or a trip to the Oregon Coast!! Happy Summer!

I have seen these babies in blogland a lot lately. I saw a darling one on etsy.com I wanted one of my very own!! FYI: Silver is better then stainless steel! I got the stamps here: If you have silverware you don't want I could take it off your hands!!

I have no idea why it is so hard for me to hammer little letters in a fork...but dang look how cute these are. SOOOO CUTE!!

Happy Pioneer Day!

Today in Utah it is a HOLIDAY! We celebrate the Mormon Pioneers. For doing what most of us couldn't do. Walking across the country!! I like showers and toilets to much to be a pioneer!! But Gosh I am grateful someone had the guts to follow their faith and make a home here in this dessert valley!!

When life gives you lemons!!

It makes me BITTER!! Life is more then I can bare at the moment. Wonder if I can get a refund!?

I had this frame and print (a dollar each) in my bathroom..I got tired of it so it hung in the guest bedroom for awhile!


I found this IKEA print at the thrift store Monday for 1.00 .

I sprayed the frame (spraying in near 100 degree weather dosen't make for a smooth finish).

Put it back in the bathroom. So so cute!! Another dollar another project perfection!!

Go JUMP in a lake!

A few hours at the lake (staff party) cures most ailments!

A little LOVE!!

One of the darling girls at the group home worked (on a hat loom) on this "HAT" for days and hours and even used a whole skein of precious of yarn..and then gave it to me!! It reminds me of a pink birds nest but gosh if we could only see all the love woven into this baby. It is bust'n at the seams!!

Not cuter!!

A new timing belt, water pump and some "belts" did nothing to make my cute car cuter nor more fun. $500.00 doesn't buy "cute in the "shop"!!

I hate all the work involved!! So I cheat!

1 Spice Cake Mix (Duncan Hines)

1/2 C. water
1/4 C.Veg Oil
3 Eggs
1 1/2 C. Zucchini
1/4 C. Brown Sugar

Flower and oil pans before adding bread mix. Bake 30-40 mins. Yields 2 big loaves!

Some people think there is only junk and flea ridden furniture at the thrift store. My sisters reported today "I don't have the patience". They are missing out!!

There were two of thee most DARLING DARLING (would be perfect w/ a little spot clean or carpet cleaner) Bassett chairs. Let' just for a minute talk about how much these retail for 999.00 ish.

This lamp is so loud and so far out of my realm...but I love the ruffle so I snapped a shot!

Another good chair 25.00.

My favorite DI is Centerville shhhh It is Mecca and will never disappoint!! today there antique section was busting at the seams!! I love this bike and this head board! They had lots of vintage Fisher Price a darling old type writer (I missed out on 3.00) just so much! There furniture section is Devine.

The point is. You can have nice quality stuff...and even antiques if you are in for a hunt!!

Booty

Let there be Light!!

I have almost always hated the light fixture in my bedroom. It reminds me of a space orb.


I have loved these vintage old school house looking light fixture forever!

A dollar and a day at the thrift store...and Ta Da! They kinda look like cousins don't they? (I still have to paint out the ugly brass but you almost can't tell in the picture!) My little sister doubted me...I feel so relieved it worked out!!
