I quickly stated it was the same as her last name.

I primed her and painted her...and hated how it turned out

She has sat in the garage for MONTHS!

I needed my other cupboard in my bathroom because

all my stuff is choke'n me!

So Ms. Aqua had to come in even if she isn't finished.

Maybe if I am forced to look at her I will have some

GREAT IDEAS!?

Here she is painted aqua. I just don't like how the finish turned

out. The sanding ect.

My sister got married (yesterday)

It was Cold and windy at the temple but BEAUTIFUL!

This isn't the best picture...but I only took a few

and then decided that I'd let the professionals

do the people shots! Plus my hands...frozen!

I am OVERLY stressed lately!

Tis the season I guess?

In between projects I took

a little look see at the thrift store.

I saw this!! What a DYSON?? These babies retail

for a cool 499.00. Wozers!

I vacuumed a small section at the thriftstore.

I totally looked like "that weird lady!"

The vacuum worked perfectly!

I came home cleaned all her filters.

(We have this vacuum at work and so I am

a pro w/ unclogging and cleaning filters!)

She is as good as new!!

The kicker?

FIVE stink'n bucks!!! Awesome!

Also on the way home I ran into this

(queen head and foot board!)!!

My sister is getting married and up

grading to a queen. I risked my life for this baby..

but it was so worth it!!

It was thrifted but then I jazzed it up.

It turned out DARLING!!

New darling aprons were included in the gift!

It really is better to give then to receive!

I have been working on my sisters wedding back drop

for a few days now. It has been cold and fingers have been frozen!

These doors weigh more then 2.9 million pounds EACH!

I love the old history of each door though.

I love the old hand painted wood grain my some master artisan

in his day!

I hate that this one plate cost 3.00!

Trying to decide if we (meaning my sister) should leave them chippy or

clean them up a bit?

I myself like the texture of the chippy played off all the other

"elegant" decor. I think chippy would look great behind the well groomed

bride and groom. I googled to see what the rest of the world is doing!:

I have a million things to do. My sister who is getting married is sick and won't deligate!

I patched a hole in my bathroom and patched it w/ the left over paint. IT IS

MUCH DARKER. I wonder if sitting in the HOT/COLD garage

did it or I did? Mmmm. I have lots of Christmas to do!

How Santa does it I will never know!!

I like dollar store goodies.
I love me some good junk.
I just don't understand the "neighbor gift".
I live in Utah. I have LOTS of neighbors. 20 +
I like them all..or mostly all. (kidding)
When you have 20 peeps ya wanta say "Happy Holidays" too
it gets costly quick! So everyone gives cute little tokens.
Tiny little quilt squares..if you will.
What does one do w/ a tiny little quilt square?
We look at it for a while and then toss it.
To me...it seems like all the squares would be
better used if sewn together and given to someone
REALLY in need! Someone who lacks any warmth...
education, clean water, food. Christmas.
After all it takes a village (of quilters).

Maybe next year I'll get my village to rally?

doesn't want to look like a total weird-o in front of the extended family.

*I went to the library and oddly enough got the mother load of

darling Christmas books! Maybe this year people are to busy

Yesterday I went to SLC. I had plans...plans changed. Sigh!

Anywho I hit a few thrift shops. We knew I would right?

Moving on. 2 plus years ago I ran into these

babies at DI brand new w/ tags for 2 bucks.

I have loved LOVED loved them! They retail for around 34 bucks.

I don't pay 34 bucks for nothin!

So when my orange little numbers got old and

smellie and fallie a partie I morned!

I honestly thought about paying RETAIL for some more....

Then yesterday I ran into these little babies.

BRAND new AGAIN and 34ish retail

but 4 dollars at the Thriggity thrift store.

I happened on Mindy Mae's Facebook page. I liked.

Then I happened on their blog. I liked too!

This is how it works..they buy things in bulk and

split up the stuff and sell it to "us" at a

great deal!! After all who needs a case of bobby pins?

Pick up is in Bountiful or they ship or they have a tiny store

once a week (Saturday) in Bountiful also.

Once upon a time...(Home Tour!)

So on December 3th after working all morning, going to see Santa and getting a hair cut. I went on the city's holiday home tour!! Most years I like one house and the rest are ho hummm. This year they were all Divine!! I love a creative home more then the next "guy"!!

I once asked if I could peek inside this home when the family had a tiny estate sale in the front yard. What was hiding behind the front door was CREEPY and falling down. I quickly looked around and ran out feeling like the ceiling might fall on my head at any moment! YIKES!

I am love'n the cool Autumn days! It is too cold for some though.

I decided to play a little Project Runway this morning.

I cut up a t-shirt leaving the collar and refashioned it

in to this darling proto-type. I used a different thread and bobbin and the

arm holes are to high. and my word the sewing is wild. But...next time it will be

DARLING!!

Tiny Tree...

Last night I made this (@ Relief Society).

I like it! I think she is cute!

My tree didn't look like anyone elses

and some people thought she was broken

and were shocked I let her legs show.

Who is this woman they gasped in my direction and

why is she using lime green when all the rest of us are

using jewel tones. Most often I do things diffrent and

it suits me and my tree just fine!!

*Today it snowed!

*I awoke after hitting the snooze no less then 5 times. I looked

at the clock and thought "I don't do 8:03 well".

*Today I learned a lot.

*I hob knobed w/ those on TV and..and learned they are just like us!

*I leaned that most people are just people.

*I was reminded how much I hate to scrape my car...but

decided I'd feel blessed for having a car.

*I remembered how blessed a nap is.

*I learned that sometimes you have to pull out the

"sensible shoes" and forget the cute shoes! Just for comfort sake!

*I confessed my fashion icons to be my

friend Karen and a ten year old in my ward.

*I suggested "my temple" and Maddox

as hot spots to those visiting from out of town!

All that and the day is through..and I couldn't be more pleased!

I finished reading a book last night! The book was boring and not one that I can recommend. The story the book is based on is crazy fasinating though. It is a true story about a mother and daughter pair who walked across the country. Spokane to NYC in hopes of earning money to save the family farm. I feel better today and so I worked on a little project!! Yipee!!

I found this ugly orange pine stool at a yard sale for 1 dollar.

I forgot to take a picture before I primed the top! Oops!

I need a tiny step stool to sit on while painting.

Sitting on the cement is just so yucky

and squatting can make moving the next day painful!!

This little number was perf and totally fit the bill!

Yes! I promptly ate the cherry tomato props right after the photo shoot!

I feel awful! It makes me thankful for my good health 99% of the time!! I napped...and then I had promised to take my sisters engagement photos. (Yeah she is engaged. Dec. 30th is the big day!!) Being a photographer is harder then I dreamed. I mean I can photograph things no prob! People move though...and get moody and hot and they have to change their clothes mid shoot. Hard! I think we got some fun ones though!! Heres hope'n!! Happy Fall!!

I have been fighting the head cold of death! I woke up earrrly this morning and just laid there. (Not like me at all) I had an early morning training far from home and then had a long shift to work. It almost killed me! I however had this CD in my car! It made me smile and think the whole ride.

Most LDS self help books and CDs make me gag a little. It just seems "so perfect"! This CD/book is just silly and eye opening...and testimony building. Can't do a lot? Do a little and than a little more and gosh you'll be ok..kinda attitude.

Really if you can get the book on CD. If you can't do that..download the MP3. If all else fails read the book!! It will make you better.and who dosen't like better?

I made another pumpkin book. I have some hints on making it easier!

Just trim the corners of the book to make the pumpkin. It is loads easier and is much taller and honestly less hand cramps! Cut a cut funky "stem" it adds so much personality!!!

Yesterday was a busy day! While teaching my DARLING primary class about the importance of temples, I handed out blobs of clay to each child. I ask each child to mold a tiny temple out of the soft pink dough. With a total look of horror on his face little Robert looked at me and said "I can't make that 'gold guy'!! So funny! He made everything but the 'gold guy' and I let him pass!!

We had so much rain last night and this morning! Lots!

You know what else is crazy? People still had YARD SALES!! Craziness! I did a few drive bys and popped in to a few place...but I mostly just headed up to the Presbyterian Thrift Store. They are sure not to disappoint!!

I have a problem!! I'll be the first to admit it! I can't even look at a can of spray paint w/ out getting a lot on me. I often have to hold my projects to get just the right coverage...that leaves a lotta over spray on my hands. Enter Goop hand clean!! It is fab...and removes the spray paint like magic! I got it on a lark at Walmart for less then 3.00. P.s. It works on laundry stains too!!

I bought a roll of stick on privacy film at the thrift store. It is so fun! Not only does it add privacy to any window...it also can add an etched effect to any little glass surface!! Do I need another "R" in my life? (My last name starts w/ "R") Not really but I love the custom etched look of this stuff. Don't think for a minute that I haven't also cuta few birds out too! Cute!

I love a place to rest my feet!!

I do not have one at work..and I wanted one!

I saw this lovely at DI! 3 bucks! I could handle three!

Sadly her lovely aqua cover was trashed and torn.

So I recovered her! I also added plastic.

Some of my friends are dirty!

I looked high and low for a upholstery needle...also I could find none!

So I used a bamboo squire and duct tape

to attach the cute little button.

Isn't covering buttons like magic!? SO FUN!

Her legs aren't perfect. They kinda distressed themselves.

Sighhh! I think I should have primed them and

maybe paint in the dark isn't such a good idea!?

The corners were rough too...but I am not perfect nor are my foot stools! (Like I have many!)

Oh well...I am happy over all and it was a fun little project and

I learned how I'll do it better next time. That is all that counts...isn't it?

While at work..about 8 pm..I get hungry for a snack. Popcorn usually hits the spot and is a healthy treat. While walking the isles of NPS the other day...I happened on this little number. Salt and lime? I wasn't so sure...but for 99 cents I chanced it...and my word is it good. While it pops it makes the room smell like lime...and when it is eaten it is light and refreshing not heavy like normal heavy popcorn.

You should put it at the top of your next shopping list!!

The staff bathroom at work was a little questionable! It was a dingy white. Loadsa perma gross and the vanity was made out of cardboard and falling apart.

I painted the little room...green and added a bird! Everything is better w/ a bird on it!! No really EVERYTHING! I also put layer after layer of paint on the vanity...and sprayed the hardware. Aweee good as new!! (Almost I still have the other walls to do!)
