Today I headed south. I had to run some errands so I popped in to the Layton D.I. When it comes to thrift stores I have been around the block a time or two and I know whats what! I just want to say "MY WORD" about the Layton D.I. HELLO OVER PRICED items!! See the price tag below? I could buy out my own local thrift store for that price!!

5 bucks!! Outlandish!!

Needless to say I shopped w/ my jaw to the floor...and didn't get much. There were many people there though w/ their carts full....so what do I know. I just think it is lame to get something for free and then charge ALMOST retail to resale it. Needless to say I found nothing for 25 cents!

I have a HUGE crush on these HUGE paper mache letters (You can only get then in Ogden...who knows why?) from Joann's. They are 9.99 but if you use the 40% coupon they are MUCH cheaper!! Look how cute they are here at Cluck Cluck Sew! P.S. If I had it to do over again I would have spray painted the letters. To much moisture not good!

Now if I can only find something else to paint aqua!!

Love is in the air!!

My sister is so in love it is a tad bit sickening! (Sorry Ba)! I am still very happy and excited for her! I thought I'd vent that happy and excitedness by doing the best thing I know how to do. Go to the dollar store and pull out the glue gun!!

Then being the cheap girl I am I didn't have it in me to buy the "forms" that Hobby Lobby sells for 5.99 so I cut out a piece of card board!! CHEAP!!

I learned only to put the filters in a two inch strip down the middle of the cardboard frame or you can't tell it's a square..it looks like a blob! Blobs aren't cute!

It only took me a few minutes and WAS SO FUN to make. I think the total cost was about 50 cents!! Everyone I know will be getting one for Christmas...maybe! This would be darling for a White Christmas, Baby Shower, Baby Room, Shappy Chic room, Just about ANYTHING!! If you make one mail me a photo!! Happy Summer!

**** Note! The first wreath I made was out of white cardboard the second was not. Make sure to either spray paint or white type paper the card board frame...it will look much better and you won't have brown polking through. Foam core is another great option!!

What a dish!!

Quite often I walk down the isles of the thrift store and drool. (Clean up on isle 3 please). There are so many things I want and so little space. This is the case w/ the below items! (They look more yellow in the photo!)

Upon showing my mom the above pictures she promptly went and picked up the lot. Perfect for Thanksgiving!!

P.S. When you buy 3 fifty cent plates they are 3 for a DOLLAR!! So this lot was around SEVEN BUCKS!!

I like big boots and I can not lie!!

I heart me a pair of darling boots. I have yet to find a cute pair that fit and feel good. Today while (thrift) shopping I found these J Crew darlings that look to be the size of my big foot! So I take a seat and tug and push and pull and I feel a bit like Cinderella's step sisters...I could not make these babies fit. Hello J Crew if you are going to charge near a million dollars for these babies PUT A ZIPPER IN THEM!! I morn the loss of the 10 dollars worth of joy I had to walk away from!!

Yard Sales and Polka dot toes!

Today I wore a jacket to work. I turned on the heater in my car for the mile ride and it was bliss!! This morning I also visited a few yard sales. I have to admit I love a good infomercial! LOVE! Well I have seen the beautiful work of Bare Escentuals...and have to say I swoon! Alas I am far to cheap for such a thing...UNTIL TODAY!! These little goodies came home w/ me for 5 bucks. A lot for me...but a real deal in the world of gormet make up!! The lip gloss retails for 18.00 per tube and honestly plumps your lips! Ok it only plumps for 3 minutes..but hey there is plumping!! Check out my polka dot toes too. Nothing a little white paint pen can't whip up. Got the idea here!!

Bunny on a leash!

If you thrift shopped long enough you have a list of weird things you have seen, heard and gawked at. I see many a dog being pushed through the isles of junk and it's so not new to me. This weekend I saw a BUNNY on a leash in down town SLC thrift store. Today yet another weird one...a cat on a leash!! I love thrift store land!!

Night Light

While sitting and dinning on cupcakes at a birthday party last weekend a little six year old approached me and asked out of the blue "Do you have a night light?" A man after my own heart getting right down to the important questions!

Book Report!!

What a GREAT stack this time around! I have been a little lax on posting my books lately...but I am gunna jump right back on that band wagon!!

See this little lovely the books are sitting on? A darling little IKEA number..that will be spray painted for my sisters wedding. Thrifted. Five dollars!
